Hello...need some health/information. Yesterday I made this mousse. I used agave nectar as the sweetner. A little later I started feeling "wiped out". It continued. Finally, while I was still able I checked my blood pressure and it was 79/64 and my pulse rate was 110. Normally these vitals are great. I felt faint and refused to go to ER. I laid down elevated my feet, drank water with a little salt in it. It is apparent that I had had a severe reation. I ate all of this at one time. You have any idea? It was so good, would love to have a taste with a strawberry again, but am afraid to. Oh, I did eat it with strawberries. I eat strawberries all the time as do I chocolate and avocados. Second time I have used agave nectar. I really would appreciate a response. Thanks...

We cannot tell you why you had this unpleasant reaction. It could be any number of things, but who are we to say what caused this to happen to you?

What we can do is recommend you the CLEANEST, SAFEST, sweeteners in order of quality of nutrients:

1. Fruit, esp. dates.
2. Raw honey/ maple syrup/ coconut sugar/ stevia
3. Organic sugar cane
4. Agave

This looks wonderful...I am going to make this today for a nice dessert after dinner. I am currently undergoing a transition to gluten free foods in order to lose weight and get healthier. It would be so much easier if I could turn off the "sweet tooth", but this might be the answer. Of course I know that I still have to eat everything in moderation...another habit to alter! :o) Happy to have found your site.
Regards,
Ella

Thanks for sharing! Health is a process, we do what we can each day. The important thing is that we are doing SOMETHING. Even it is only an lemon water. Yes, moderation is key and sometimes it takes some time to learn that. We wish you the best of luck and let us know if you have any questions :)

So happy to have this recipe. I'm NOT a fan of avocados, but am learning of their health benefits via your web site and others. This fits the bill for using avocados and a delcious decadently rich dessert. I don't feel guilty at all. And, totally satisfying. I use local honey as my sweetener of choice.

Question for you: How far in advance may I prepare this and eat? Should this be eaten the same day? (As I mentioned... I'm "new" to avocados!)

Thanks for all your great recipes. God bless all of you!

Hey Dustina!

Anything with Avocados should be eaten day of if possible. They don't tend to last very long once cut open. Next day should be fine as well, but fresher the better! :)

Hey Jan,

Discard the skin and pit! :) Only use the "meat" of the avo!
