Total making time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4 people
16 cups of water
1 inch piece of ginger, diced
1 large parsnip, chopped into cubes
1 large sweet potato, chopped into bite size pieces
1 large yam, chopped into bite size pieces
2 carrots, chopped
1 yellow onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cumin, dried
12 teaspoon turmeric, powder
1/2 teaspoon sage, dried
1/2 teaspoons thyme, dried
Dash of cayenne pepper
1. In a pot add all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium/low. Stir and cook for 20 minutes.
2. Garnish the soup with fresh herbs and or spices. Season to taste.
1. If you want a smooth soup, blend all the ingredients in a VITAMIX or high speed blender and then add to pot and cook for 20 minutes.
