Is milk healthy or not then? And what about tofu?
The Earth Diet believes that health is focusing on a lifestyle of eating only foods naturally provided by the earth. Milk was healthy 100 years ago when it came straight from grass fed free range cows. Now we have over 6 billion people on the planet and to keep up with the demand of meat and milk the farmers are made to feed cows corn and hormones to make them grow faster, and then use antibiotics to keep them from getting ill from the rapid growth rate. This is then passed onto us in their meat and milk. If you can source organic milk that is chemical free, antibiotic free, hormone free and preservative free it will provide you with nutritional value. If not it does the opposite. Raw milk is the healthiest kind - do you know any farmers? You could also try almond milk or oat milk as an alternative. As for tofu which is made from soy beans - the same applies - a 100 years ago it was healthy for you - now most of the soy comes from Genetically Modified Beans and are grown using Roundup (a herbicide that kills weeds and roots) as a fertilizer. Soy has become extremely toxic. You could try raw seeds and nuts for protein as an alternative to soy. |
"What is the fastest and healthiest way to lose weight? I don't have time to exercise because of my work schedule." - Katherine
This is a guide for weight loss and to see results in 7 days... The key points are: Moving the body, nutrition and detoxing... -MOVING THE BODY- 1. To lose weight we need to move our bodies...Can you make time for 10 minutes of exercise in the morning - 10 minutes in the middle of day and 10 minutes before you go to bed? This will make up 30 minutes - and if you do this every day for a week you will notice a significant toning in your body :) You might just do 10 mins of stretching, or 10 minutes of star jumps/skipping rope/bouncing on a trampoline, or 10 minutes of dancing to your favourite music, or 10 minutes of ab work or cardio like push ups, sit ups ...If you work in an office when you are sitting down hold your abs in, you can even lift your legs up and down off the chair, you will feel your core strengthen. And keep your abs tight all day, every time you remember pull them in. This is a workout! -NUTRITION- 2. Do not deprive your body of food! Your body will actually store weight instead of lose weight. Juice everyday - beet, carrot, celery and ginger (a bit of apple if you need it sweet), this is the MOST powerful juice for cleaning out the bowels - you may have anywhere between 1-15 pounds (if you are overweight you will have more) of compacted waste just sitting in your digestive system. Then juice 2-3 grapefruits in the afternoon around the time you crave sweet things. Grapefruits zap the fat cells away! Add oranges to make it taste delicious if you like :) 3. Also eat majority raw foods - if you want to see weight drop fast, eat only raw foods for an entire week - nothing cooked and focus on salads, fruits and vegetables. If you crave fats eat avocados - up to 3 a day! Don't worry about people who say they are fattening! You will not get fat eating avocado they slide in and slide out - they are good fats. I eat them every day. 4. If you must must must have sugar opt for fruit first, if that doesn’t do the job and you are about to cave and eat chocolate or sweets then make your own raw chocolate that is sugar free, dairy free, soy free and gluten free. Recipes are on the ‘Recipe’ page! -DETOX- 5. Soak in a hot epsom salts bath for at least 10 minutes if you can 3-4 times a week. This will sweat out toxins and burn fat. 6. Drink ginger tea - cut up chunks of ginger and drink it daily. 7. Every morning before anything else squeeze half a lemon into a glass of water and drink it. This alkalzines your body and in an alkaline body no illness or weight gain is possible. 8. Drink only water, juice and tea the entire week - no store bought juices, no milk and no sugary drinks at all! 9. Take big breaths of air - be conscious of your breath! Each night exhale the stale air and take in big breaths of fresh clean air. Breathe in and out through your nose. This will ensure circulation through the body. Stick to the earth diet for an entire week and you will see results, be sugar free, dairy free, soy free, gluten free, chemical free, preservative free, additive free, artificial everything free for one week and you will experience weight loss! - you may hear a little voice telling you to stop doing it, that you are just a fat ugly pig and will be forever so you may as well give up, to eat something else, to just have one chocolate or one hamburger especially when you find it hard. Do not acknowledge this voice! This 'hard' period, where you may feel tired will pass - and once it does you will have broken your craving desires and will feel alive! |
Can I eat meat on The Earth Diet?
Yes, the earth diet encompasses all that is naturally provided by the earth. I ask myself now - did nature intend this to be eaten to support my existence as a human being? I choose not to eat meat because I choose not to eat meat. There are no other reasons or evidence for why, although I could think of a hundred different reasons. So The Earth Diet is not just for some people and others not. It is for all people, meat eaters, vegans, rawists, fruitarians, sea food lovers, vegetarians; all who share a common appreciation; to eat foods as nature intends. |
What have you heard about saw palmetto, side effects and benefits? - Marilynn, Canada
As far as I have read on saw palmetto it is a natural source of alternative medicine that has been used for thousands of years by humans especially for reproduction organs, although I'm not so sure about the process it takes to extract it today, I have read using; hexane & ethanol aka pure alcohol. I believe the side effects (and just like taking any other drug) becomes redundant and ends up doing nothing at all - so it's good to have it every so many months and not on an ongoing consistent basis :) Thanks Marilynn! Great topic :)

What does The Earth Diet entail?
The key point to the earth diet is reducing the chemical burden on the body from eating processed foods. The first guiding principle of the earth diet is that when we reduce our intake and exposure to toxic chemicals our liver becomes more available for fat digestion and our body generally becomes more efficient in its biochemical processes and hence we loose fat. The second principle relies on raw foods as much as possible so that our body receives extra digestive enzymes and nutrients that actually get delivered to every cell of our body so we don't feel so hungry and craving fatty and sugar foods. That again helps in us having a higher metabolism and hence the fat burn. The third principle of the earth diet is to cleanse the body. By removing toxins from the body, the body looses fat and stored water naturally. |
How exactly will my life change if I start The Earth Diet?
It is widely believed in the law of attraction that in order for us to manifest what we want in life we must be in vibration alignment with that which we want to attract. Eating whole foods from the earth that is chemical free strengthens you and increases your vibrational frequency. We experience this in the form of feeling good. Eating foods with chemicals or taking any kind of chemical substances will weaken you and decrease your vibrational frequency. We experience this in the form of not feeling so good. The Earth Diet is feeling good. |
How do I start to be healthy?
We're often oblivious to how our food is produced, where it comes from, who produces it, and when fruit and vegetables are actually in season. Start there. Get to know your foods, and what is actually ‘food’. Next time you eat ask yourself “does this provide me with nutritional value, health and vitality?”. Take the first step. |

What are cravings and how can I get rid of them?
The cravings you have at present are the cravings you have had for many past moments. Therefore nothing will rid the cravings in an instant, as your cravings will re-appear and re-appear as if a spinning wheel, until in each time that craving arises you learn to master the urge to do what ‘it’ wants and instead do what ‘it’ dislikes. Like eating an Avocado. Usually the ‘it’ won’t want you to eat an avocado as it is still attached to the current craving. Each time you have a craving eat an avocado. Eventually the ‘it’ loses its urge as the spinning wheel slows down and eventually sleeps. Perhaps even dead. It would talk complete surrendering to self to put it to death. If you eat an avocado each time, you will eventually crave that avocado instead of the previous craving you were having repeatedly. I love avos, they are always light and soft, silky and fruity, solid, giving and fulfilling, Andrew also says they are the best thing for all of his cravings. |
Can I drink alcohol on The Earth Diet?
Each person can create The Earth Diet to suit them and if you enjoy drinking then absolutely include that in your lifestyle. To comply with The Earth Diet, the most natural alcohol to drink are wines, especially red wines with no preservatives. Most hard liquor also comes from fermented fruits and vegetables like vodka is made from fermented potatoes, tequila from the agave plant, gin from juniper berries etc If you do drink, follow it the next day with a beetroot (beet), carrot, celery and ginger juice to flush out the liver. Make your own alcohol so you know what is going in it. That way it can be free of unknown chemicals and preservatives. |
Hey Liana, how do you know when you have eaten too much? and do you ever overeat? -Rachel, Perth AUS
Hi Rachel, yes I do and I have over eaten foods since I can remember as a child. I had thought when I was a kid that food would run out, and it wouldn’t be there again so I should eat as much as I could whenever it was available to me; I thought from scarcity. I developed this 'lack of' conversation in my head and it spoke out again and again, over and over again. Eventually it just became something I did. It wasn't until I committed to eating only foods naturally provided by the earth for 1 year, and with that was a new relationship with food. I read this one day and realized just how perfect it was for The Earth Dieter :) FOOD: A material nutriment ingested by organisms to satisfy the pangs of hunger and to sustain the body; for maintenance and continuance of this body, and not to be eaten for fun or amusement. Rachel sometimes I am present to it and can prevent overeating when not acknowledging it. Sometimes it is like here I am and here is this ‘thing’ wanting to eat more and more and more. To eat within my capacity is my goal :) I hope you are well! Love Liana |
What do you think of the US Government? -Todd, Alabama USA
The US government advises to consume 6-11 servings of carbohydrates in one day. Cities are designed for automobiles, not for healthier ways of getting about like walking or bicycling. In fact, we’ve made it dangerous and unattractive to do so. The government subsidizes billions to the lowest-quality foods, grains like corn; for corn sweeteners and animal feed to make Big Macs and wheat; refined carbohydrates. Meanwhile, the government does not subsidize healthier items like fruits, vegetables, beans, and nuts. The foods that are the worst for us have an artificially low price, and the healthiest foods cost more. |
I am not doing the entire Earth Diet (yet), it is too much of a life transformation for me currently, but what are some quick things I could remember to implement them into my life now? -Frederick UK
These things will eventually become your new way of being and you will naturally vibrate towards more of those like things and you experience feeling good for long periods of time. |
I'm stressing out every time I hear about genetically modified foods and am hearing mixed things about it, but it can't be good can it, since it is created in a laboratory? Since when did fruit and vegetables belong in a lab? Are GM foods good for us? -Cathy AUS
Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods derived from genetically modified organisms. 70% of processed foods have some genetically modified ingredient. Genetically modified organisms have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering, using a process of either Cisgenesis or Transgenesis and even human DNA. These new genes attack our internal environment. The world population has topped 6 billion people and is predicted to double in the next 50 years. Ensuring an adequate food supply for this booming population is going to be a major challenge in the years to come. Genetically Modified foods promise to meet this need in a number of ways. Do you think it is possible to continue living on the Earth without GMF? :/ |
Does The Earth Diet believe that technology has helped our food industry? -Kathryn USA
1000 years ago food was produced at a much slower rate, so we ate less and appreciated more. Since then our technologies continue to evolve and human handling becoming less allowing machines to do the work. Today, we have the luxury of enjoying a wide variety of foods at our convenience. Our fat-storage mechanisms now working overtime to unclog the pipes, our hormones and metabolism in spasms and bodies that are not quite yet designed to handle so much caloric input and so little energy outflow. We do have seedless lemons though :/ So what do you think? |
What do you think, is it even worth it, is it possible to create a healthy world now or is it too late? -Eric NJ
The predictable almost certain future is more of this, as the world is at present, and then more of what we currently have. “Fluid social change can only materialize if two circumstances are met. One, the human value system, which consists of our understandings and beliefs, must be updated and changed through education and thoughtful introspection. Two, the environment surrounding that value system must change to support the new world view. The interaction between a person's value system and their environment is what influences human behavior.” - Zeitgiest movement We have the ability to create and shape the world in which ever way we desire. That’s how powerful we are. |
What is current news happening with the Organic industry? -Dylan California, USA June Organics is the fastest growing food segment, increasing 20% annually. California Becomes the First 'Cage-Free' Egg State as Governor Schwarzenegger has signed legislation requiring that all whole eggs sold in that state come from hens that are able to stand up, extend their limbs, and spread their wings without touching either one another or the sides of the cage. This will be in effect in 2015. |
