|
Native food:
Lingonberry (Used to make Lingonberry Jam, which is used in a variety of different Swedish dishes, including Swedish Meatballs!) Benefits of lingonberry: Counteracts urinary-tract infections, rich in omega 3, vitamins C & B and magnesium. Common fruit: Berries Benefits of berries: Increases eye vision, prevents bladder infections & weight loss. |

Natural Alternatives in Sweden:
If you are visiting in Winter I suggest staying somewhere that has a sauna (which wont be hard to find!) Or in Summer take a trip to a summer vacation house where you will spend your days outdoors in a natural holiday environment. Eco-Accommodation: You will find a lot of eco accommodation in Sweden in the form of huts, usually in the forest. Speak to the locals on the best places to visit or get on google! Restaurants that focus on ingredients naturally provided by the earth: Sattva's Eko Smat cafe in Stockholm serves a range of organic foods such as; cakes, breads, coffee & more! Seyhmus, also in Stockholm, is a casual buffet style restaurant serving organic, vegetarian and vegan foods! |
|
Thoughts:
Sweden is a country of fish! You will find fish everywhere you go, in all forms. So if you aren't vegetarian then I suggest visiting the local fish markets to find the freshest & most natural fish/seafood to eat. Otherwise, get stuck into the amazing berries! Lingonberry jam is found everywhere and cooked in a lot of meals or its so easy to make your own! |
|
TIPS:
-Shop at the local markets. Here you can find an abundance of natural seafood and fresh fruit & vegetables. -When visiting Sweden you will notice most people ride bikes and walk rather than drive or take transport. Follow in their footsteps and get some exercise while enjoying the magnificent sights! -Swedish people are considered "sweet tooths" so beware you don't get sucked in by the endless variety of sweets, chocolates and candy! |
